Women's Rights in the Congo
I'm doing my paper on women's rights in the Congo and one of the largest problems there seems to be is rape. On multiple different sources I've seen rape called part of the culture. To me this seems like they are being insulted. Having something like rape be seen as common and even normal is astounding to me. I didn't even know this was and issue. What shocked me even more was that rape is now seen as a weapon to use against the people. By doing this they are able to make people fear them. Women who are raped are often made an outcast from their families, community, and husbands. Is anyone else doing this topic? And if so, how do you feel about rape becoming a tactic of war?

I was considering doing the Women's Rights in the Congo but something else more controversial, the lgbt in Cameroon, caught my eye. Still i have alot of personal opinions toward the topic. As far as rape i wish that it didnt even exist. It takes the power away from individual leaving them defenseless in every way. The emotional, and physical repercussions of rape are so depressing and unjust. I don't necessarily consider myself a feminist but I'm all for the empowering of women. I would love to hear more about what you think on the topic :) Also interested in hearing about your thoughts rape becoming a tactic of war
