Points of View From an Optimist

If you read any of my posts you should know clearly that i'm an Optimist. If you don't know what an Optimist is i'll give a brief description, An Optimist is person who believes in pretty much everything, or who says that everything is right and wrong  at the same time. So for example, What a Christian believes in is right and wrong. I see everything as an opportunity to become better than myself. I use every bit of knowledge to my advancement. Something a lot more touchy than Christianity. What Hitler did was right and wrong. Now don't hate me because of that. Hitler unified his people under one cause, for most people that cause is immediately notified as being terrible, but I don't. Hitler used this cause to make his people happy. He gave them money, power, even purpose. During WW2 the economy of Germany boomed. Inflation was no longer a problem. Why? Because Hitler used his cause as a way to improve this. Yet what Hitler did was also terrible. He killed millions of people just because of their religion. He persecuted these people, tortured them, made them inhuman. He made their lives a living hell, but for everyone else in Germany who wasn't Jewish prospered and their lives got a hundred times better. What Hitler did was amazing for the non Jewish population of Germany. What he did to the Jewish population was terrible. He did something so terrible to do something so good. Do you understand now? Everything that happens is good and bad, nice and mean, cool and stupid, there is no or. Or is for people who can't see both sides. Or is for people who don't understand why i'm saying what i'm saying. I never use the word or anymore. It has no meaning. Here, give me a Challenge. Reply to this with something you'd like to see from both sides. The good and the bad. I'll make sure to reply to every comment and ones that tickle my fancy more than the others I might even make a full post about it. So please do that. Again, as usual, I want to hear every opinion on my opinions. I have a feeling that someone isn't going to understand what I just said and get real mad at me for making Hitler look like a good guy.

  4. I totally agree with what you said about the pros and cons of Hitler. You could almost look at him like your average war leader/general. As the war leader is marching his troops over the enemy's walls and taking them over, it could be seen as both good and bad. At one point, you are gaining more land for your culture or group of people you belong to but then you are also hurting, usually, whoever you are taking over. Not all reigns have to end or even start in violence. Then on the other hand violence is sometimes the only option. Thank you for sharing your views with me.

I for one love this post because it really got my mind swirling. I would like to consider myself an optimist as well, but then again I can also be that judgy person who only focuses on the bad people do (like Hitler) rather than the good sometimes. But then again who isn't a bit hypocritical at times? This post truly is the post of a true optimist because before I didn't believe there was a single good bone in a leader like Hitler's body... that has since reading this post, changed. Like you said before, an optimist is someone who believes in right and wrong. I know an athlete who had just got back to school and sports from rehab and is on a beautiful road to recovery. Now, I am not extremely close with this girl, but I know her enough to know she is a good person and I am proud of her for her recovery. Some of the other athletes on the team believe that she does not deserve to play and that she is just a plain old "druggie". But her past does not define her, and the fact that she is still playing her sport after going down that long hard pat of her past, her athleticism is what is helping her over come that. So as others see her as just a plain old washed up drug addict, I see her potential. Now I may NOT be a full blown optimist 100% of the time, but DO find the good in the bad. All in all, I love this post.
