Drug Cartels in Mexico- Effects on Schools
For my topic I'm doing drug cartels in Mexico. The topic itself is really interesting but them I came across an article and it was saying how people are smuggling weed from the united states into mexico. I thought it was weird how things were turned around. Also i saw an article talking about how it effects children and I plan on making on talking about it inn my paper. it was saying how in schools the bullies act as drug leaders. like they have organized "crime" in elementary schools. for example, the older kids act as the "leaders" and will send the middle aged kids to the playground to collect money from the little kids in order to allow them to play on the playground. and if the little kids refuse, they'll get beaten up. that's insane how much its effecting schools. they literately have their own form of mini drug cartels in the school. did anyone else see something like this while researching?

I'm doing drug cartels in South America, but I haven't seen that at all. I've seen specifically how younger children are getting into drugs sooner. One of my sources said that homeless children are getting ahold of the remnants from cocaine production. They are homeless and uneducated, so for many something as profitable as selling drugs seems like a good option, and possibly for some, their only option. 1 in every 9 people in Columbia is a drug user, and that number is on the rise. I'd imagine that the ranking that you discussed happens in South America as well, but people are so worried about all of the drugs there that bullying doesn't seem quite so important to those people.
ReplyDeletei`m also doing drug cartels in South America. I have that people are scared of the drug cartels that some of them hired private security guards for protection. They are afraid to leave their homes. Also how a college gave 43 college students to the cartels and the cant find the students. That is only some of the stuff i found on the drug cartel in South America.
ReplyDeleteThe U.S. Military should step in for assistance as well as the FBI. Because its not only mexico that has a drug problem, its leaking over to america
ReplyDeleteWhy is it always the US's job to fix other countries messes though? We've turned into the international police and keep trying to fix other countries' problems when our country still has major problems of its own that we should be working on. I'm not saying that we should totally stay out of everyone's but we're involved in things that we don't necessarily need to be involved in.
