Human Trafficking

Human trafficking isn't one of the most common issues  you normally hear about on the news. Yet, in the US and many other countries around the world, it is a growing problem. Young, old, boy, girl, black skin, white skin, any of these characteristics follow those of whom a person would purchase. Hundreds of people are trafficked everyday whether it be for manual labor or for sexual exploitation. Some are given to help pay for their poor families, and others are taken without any say from them or their families. As of now, there are many anti-trafficking safe houses where people are rescued and put forth to a better life, one day I believe there will be more of these than trafficking industries.

  1. Its so weird because like you said you don't hear much about it but there are about 27 million people running or caught in human trafficking most of them kidnapped and forced into it, you'd think you would hear more about it on the news or something. I only found out about this stuff through my church a couple months back. We support an organization called 'End it' to help end human trafficking and raise awareness of it. you should check it out they hold walks for freedom and stuff like that.

  3. Search for Ann's Story. She is a girl who was trafficked from South Africa. I think this may help you make a better report o human trafficking.

  4. I agree I am also doing Human Trafficking in my paper. It is ridiculous that it is not a well known subject that is rarely ever brought up considering Human Trafficking is the third biggest organized crime in the world right now, it should be voiced more and brought to an end.

  6. Just a heads up, this is not the original wildcat18, this is SJB18 because I was unable to create my own personal account so I will be blogging on this one.

I too agree that human trafficking is wrong, cruel, and many other things in that nature. I once read an article about human trafficking and what was being done to put an end to this madness. And all I could find in that article was what was being done AFTER the person had already survived being trafficked. So I still ponder about the acts I believe should be done, such as not isolating children and adults from information about human trafficking. If people have more knowledge about human trafficking, they may start to be more aware. But yet again, something like human trafficking is one of those circumstances that you think "oh, that would never happen to me."
Another piece of the article I read was giving me information about how after someone has escaped being trafficked, they are given a trust fund. This is a kind gesture made by the government, but it is also one that aggravates me. I agree with giving a trust fund, but the emotional aspect of this situation is too strong to be cured with money.
