Adding a little Humor to the Blog

“If your friend is already dead, and being eaten by vultures, I think it's okay to feed some bits of your friend to one of the vultures, to teach him to do some tricks. But only if you're serious about adopting the vulture.” -Jack Handy

Would you do it? What would be your vulture's name, I mean if you're adopting it then please at least name the thing. The little guy learned tricks for the bits of your friend after all.

Empire

Anybody watch the show Empire? if so id love to hear your opinions if not, i'd still love to hear them

On Compassion

Take a moment to reflect on the 3 people (the woman with the baby, bakery worker, and the mayor of NY) determine what you believer were their motives for interacting with the homeless.  Why do you believe that person did what he/she did?
Next pick to look at this person through Kohlberg's moral stages or with a gender approach.  What stage would you place this person on Kohlberg's list? Give text support to explain your reasoning.  If you use a gender approach how does this person fit or not fit into the gender expectation.  Use text support to explain your answer.

Meninist

I know that the majority of the school has a twitter and I was wondering if anyone has seen the @/meninisttweet account? The account's a joke, it says so in the bio, but I was wondering what others reactions were to the tweets. Some of them infuriate me, and maybe I can't take a joke, but I might not be the only one.

Emotionally Unfair

Has anyone else noticed that adults kind of imply that kids and teens should never be/have no reason to be upset or stressed about anything? Maybe it's just me, but I always get that feeling. It's like adults expect the youth to constantly be happy and care-free (except when it comes to school, grades, jobs, your social life, and behavior, but you're not allowed to be too worried about those things). If you show even the smallest sign of stress or sadness they freak out and say things like, "You're too young to have problems," or "You have no reason to be upset," except NEWS FLASH teens are some of the most stressed-out people you will ever meet. Age does not exempt you from emotions. We are all humans who all have a wide range of emotions that can vary greatly.

The New Masculinity

We have all seen them before. Those guys at lunch talking about their girlfriends. The size of her butt, her rack, the way she moans. These conversations seem to always devolve into a debauched contest of who can say the most disgusting thing about their significant other. That is what our society calls manly. Men are expected to be athletic, domineering, and studly. They are told that it is cool to cheat, that it is cool to share nudes among friends, because how else can you show how successful you are as a men. The thinking seems to be "I've gotten more tail then you, I'm better than you."

Consider this, there are two guys. One is a intelligent, socially awkward, considerate young boy. The other is the star of the foot ball team, he is a partier and he loves sharing stories of his sexual adventures. We all know which boy will be considered cooler, but who is the real man?

This is a call for a new masculinity. If you are a guy who respects women, who sees them a potential friends rather than as potential scores, come out of hiding. Come out and change the world

Expecting the Unexpected: The Struggle of Being a Pretty Little Liars Fan

Okay, so last night was the PLL season 5 finale, also known as the Big A reveal. We found out who has been A for the past three seasons since the game was stolen from Mona when she went to Radley. Typical of PLL, even though we found out who A was, we still don't know who it is. Being the obsesser that I am, I was looking up theories about who Charles is and how he fits into the story line. If you saw the finale last night,  what'd you think of it? Was it worth the hype of being "the craziest episode" PLL has ever had? What are some of your favorite theories that you've seen or even your own personal theory?

Anti-rape Campaign AD

Image result for if you have to use forceImage result for if you have to use force

OK so i'm sure that if you have twitter, or use the internet in almost any way, you've probably seen these images, but if you haven't, I'll explain;

the first image is two glued pieces of paper glued together, which forces you to practically rip the pages apart to see the clear image, which then becomes the second picture, two women's legs spread apart. The caption for this is  "if you have to use force, it's rape".
Honestly I find this an extremely brilliant form of advertisement, considering rape is such a high occurrence here in the US and other countries, what do you think?

Stresses

This time of the year do you feel more relaxed? Do you feel more stressed out? For me, I'm more stressed. Fourth quarter. Summer is coming. Your grades matter the most right now. I feel that now is the time when I stress more over it because I want to be more relaxed because the school year is coming to the end, but I can't. If I slack off now, then my grades will slip, my parents will be pissed at me and I'd have to quit my job. Speaking of job, the hours pick up now because I work at DQ and more people like ice cream and so its more busy there. So, in that sense I have to balance my grades with my work while dealing with family drama. ALSO, I coach a volleyball team, so I have to think about that at the same time. All in all, spring is pretty stressful in my opinion. So many more opportunities become available and you have to get your priorities straight. So, what stresses you in your life?

Walk with Him

I know too many people who waste their time. They spend their lives in a subconscious state of regret and misery. I know this because I used to do the same thing, lived my life like it was some nonliving plot of dirt. That was before I discovered the catalyst for the biggest change to have ever occurred in my life, and that was meeting God. My life has been changed for the better a hundred times over, and continues to grow as I accept His guidance and instruction.
Separation from Him only leads to misery and a colorless life. I encourage everyone to seek Him and spread the word, the Word of God. You will see  a boom in yourself and the world that will suddenly gain color and vibrancy, tones of rich diversity will overcome you and you will be set free from the chains of a secular existence. If you don't believe me, just invite Jesus into your life and see for yourself.

I found this quote that I thought was pretty awesome and kinda relevant.

What's with all the hate towards socialism?

Is it any coincidence that the happiest countries in the world are the most socialized economically? This link: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2696136/Why-people-Denmark-happy-Study-claims-Danish-DNA-king-pursuit-happiness.html  shows that Denmark, Norway, The Netherlands, Switzerland and Sweden are the five happiest countries. What it fails  to mention is that all of these countries have modeled their economy around socialistic values. This article http://www.dsausa.org/what_can_we_learn_from_denmark shows that socialism could fix what we believe to be ailing our country, so why don't we just do that? Under that same Google search, I found this webpage as well, http://www.teapartypatriots.org/news/lessons-better-left-in-denmark/ and while this does bring up some good points on how the system that is in place may not help Americans, we can easily model our economic policy towards the good points of socialism, such as the great free healthcare, or the free college education. This could dramatically help Americans, especially the newest generations. Feel free to comment what you think about this. Turns out that links don't work very well with this, so you will just have to right click+open webpage to view them.

Energized Music

It's game time here at Fort Zumwalt West High school, baseball is on the rise. What better way is there to get your self pumped up before a practice and or game than to listen to music of your choice. This time of year allows people to get out in the open and play the sport they love and desire. For me that is baseball. When we are going to an away game, nothing works better for me than to chill and listen to some hard hitting rap beats and or good bass amplified dubstep. What kind of music works for you guys and why?

Favorite Movie?

Just out of curiosity, I want to know what everyone's favorite movies are. Mine would have to be Shawshank Redemption.

Gaming Rant

First I want to start off with the PS4 game Little Big Planet 3, the successor to the popular franchise of the PlayStation. A game that was rushed to be finished, a rush of crap. The game honestly doesn't work and getting through to the end is impossible because the controls are so down into the trash pit, that it can't be completed. Having re-bought the damn game makes it even more frustrating when it breaks even earlier in the process! To allow a game to be released in that bad of a state and the patches do nothing. The cut-scenes which are usually the flawless piece of any bad game don't even work, messing character sprites and the character's costume being changed to whatever it pleases. I'm not a fan of Sony to begin with, but I mean come on, make sure something is complete before stamping your junk all over it.

Now to my beloved Nintendo, yeah there has been a lot of things that have irritated me because of them. I mean I love the games such as Smash and the remake of my favorite LoZ game Majora's Mask, but the amiibos, Mario Party 10, and the New 3DS really strike a nerve. First the amiibos need more product, they're better than Skylanders and Disney figures so why not produce more instead of having to import them all the way from Japan just for a character who wasn't even an exclusive. Before I get too pissed about that, what about Mario Party 10, the worst of the series. Playing as Bowser is fun, playing as Spike is mildly creepy, playing in a bloody map that is from point A to point B without being able to screw over the other players is the worse! Being stuck with the bloody fools is miserable and where is the star, I don't want these ministars, I want that star that says "Ha you got it, pay (Some odd number here)." I hate Mario Party 10, the minigames are crap, the levels are crap, everything about it is quite bad. The New 3DS is the 3DS they should have started us with, I would love to get a New 3DS except it costs the same as the others and comes without a charger. Thanks Nintendo, love you too. </3

Microsoft, why must you produce a good game after every two bad?

Steam/Valve . . . . I honestly have no gripe with them, except allowing FNAF trilogy
and just a load of very bad and poorly done games.

Gender roles? Can I have Pizza Rolls instead?

As I get older, I start becoming more and more aware of the things that are wrong in the world. There's so much controversy that you almost have to hide from technology to catch a break. It seems that gender roles are becoming a huge debate recently and I thought I'd throw in my two cents.

In many divorce cases the women tend to gain custody of the children more frequently than the fathers, even if the fathers are better equipped for taking care of their children. Gender roles, of course, are the main cause behind this. Us females are taught from a young age how to care for children and a family, so these judges rule in the mothers favor. Even if the father wins custody of his children, he's at a distinct disadvantage because men are rarely taught the same things as women. When was the last time you saw a parent give their son a baby doll?

What are your thoughts on this topic?
