From the Antigone Prompts Today

    I am not confident.
I repeat; I am not confident.
    No one is confident.
    Does no one realize this?
I frequently appear to be confident-- people believe I’m free of insecurities.
    Absolutely not.
For ages upon ages I was drowning in them. Silly things. Things only I would worry about. Mainly not being good enough, but those things started to pass, partially because I realized one of the biggest and saddest things of the human race:
The flaws we hate the most are the ones that bug only us.
Think about it, for just a second. Think about a physical trait you are self conscious of. Maybe it’s the shape of your nose or the way your eyebrows look or the way you talk or the color of your eyes.
Now, I challenge you to look for those things on another person. Spot those imperfections-- now don’t write me off as a nut job yet! Do you want to know why you must do that? You’ll realize that you never saw it on them and that it doesn’t matter. If you never saw it on another, why would someone see it on you?
Think of one of your habits you hate. Maybe you’re disorganized or you tap too much or you bite your nails or you ramble or stutter or trip or have a laugh you hate.
Go into a public place. Sit down in your classroom. Look around at lunch. Don’t talk, just watch and listen.
    Other people do it too.
You had never noticed or cared! You don’t care now, either. It makes them no less of a person. So if you don’t worry about it with others, why should you worry about it with yourself?
We all have “flaws,” but they’re not as big as you would think.

Super Powers

If you could have any super power, what would it be? I can't choose just one, so I would choose: teleportation, reading minds, or being able to breathe underwater! What would you choose?

Halloween

Who's excited for Halloween? I know I am. Watch scary movies and eat as much candy as I can. What is your favorite candy? Whats your favorite scary movie? why?

Number #1 Pet Peeve

What is your least favorite habit that someone can have? Is it a little thing (pencil tapping)? Or is it a big thing (lying)? You can rant all you want on this post.

Do you know any questions that are stupid yet funny?

Here is one is saw at some website-

This one is probably more stupid: If you saw a heat wave...would you wave back?

If a poison expires, does it become more dangerous or less dangerous?

I feel like this is a 'chicken or the egg' kind of question. If a poison expires, do you think it become more dangerous or less? Why?

"Dear Future Husband" by Meghan Trainor

Currently number 23 on iTune's pop songs, "Dear Future Husband" by Meghan Trainor is no doubt a catchy song. Yet, the underlying message may be controversial. I encourage you to listen to the song and lyrics here.

Personally, I do not like the message of the song. I feel as if it is giving the idea that women can make mistakes in relationships, yet men cannot. Specifically,  Trainor states, "After every fight, just apologize.... Even if I was wrong, you know I'm never wrong, Why disagree?"

I think the goal of this song was to empower women but in the process it implied women are superior to men.

What do you guys think?
