Journal (in a comment) about a something you think is a problem in the world. Convince us why it is a problem (if you use ethos, pathos, or logos)--great!
1 thing that I find wrong with the world right now is that the prices for everything is going to high and it's causing poverty and causing people to lose jobs by not allowing them to get to work.
all these facts were from 2013, In 2013, the official poverty rate was 14.5 percent, down from 15.0 percent in 2012. This was the first decrease in the poverty rate since 2006. In 2013, there were 45.3 million people in poverty. For the third consecutive year, the number of people in poverty at the national level was not statistically different from the previous year’s estimate. The 2013 poverty rate was 2.0 percentage points higher than in 2007, the year before the most recent recession. The poverty rate for children under 18 fell from 21.8 percent in 2012 to 19.9 percent in 2013. 1 The poverty rate for people aged 18 to 64 was 13.6 percent, while the rate for people aged 65 and older was 9.5 percent. Neither of these poverty rates were statistically different from their 2012 estimates. Both the poverty rate and the number in poverty decreased for Hispanics in 2013. Despite the decline in the national poverty rate, the 2013 regional poverty rates were not statistically different from the 2012 rates. https://www.census.gov/hhes/www/poverty/about/overview/
I think people spend way to much time on there cellphones. people are constantly charging there phone. there always asking to use during class. come on people. my neighbor for example said this to me yesterday. "i cant come out im txting my friend and playing a game on my phone." people are also always getting in trouble in school cause they have there phone out. i constantly see a kid my age txting while eating lunch and not talking to there family.I see kids younger than ten who has a phone now thats even worse.
I think a real world problem is that beef jerkey does cost like 6 bucks i mean it cant be that hard to make it and it is soooooooooooooooo good. It just makes me mad but at walgreens they put it on sale for like 2 for 9 dollars so that made me pretty happy.
I think a major world problem is hatred between countries. The world would be a much more peaceful and happy place if different nations could learn to respect eachother's ideas and customs. It would be somewhat simple if we all communicated if we were in need of help, but for the most part just kept to ourselves. War and terrorism causes mass death and depression throughout the world. Of course not all of us are going to agree on things, but if it doesn't effect you directly then there is no need to get involved in my opinion.
For an example, the most violent part of the world right now and in recent history seems to be the middle east. These countries are constantly fighting over religion, politics, and economy. The united states often gets involved in these conflicts, which in my opinion puts our country and military in unnecessary danger. Just for proof of the violence and unrest in the middle east, here's a link with all their modern wars up to 2013: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_modern_conflicts_in_the_Middle_East
Something that I think is a problem is the world is drugs. Almost everyday on the news you see someone who has either died form drugs or has done something because they were on drugs. I've heard about parents hitting their kids or killing them because they were doing drugs. Everywhere you look you see them. On the streets, in stores, at homes, and sometimes kids even bring them to school. I think we should eliminate them. If we do that wee can save many lives.
Drugs are not a problem, it is people becoming dependant on them for a high, while if someone used drugs in moderation (besides highly dangerous ones) then that is fine, it is when people abuse them that stuff goes wrong.
Here is a link that shows the top 9 reason why someone uses drugs. http://thejenniferact.com/2011/05/12/reasons-why-people-use-drugs/ Drugs kill about 200,000 people each year. Yes, some people use drugs just for the high but some people use them to seem cool or fit in because they see their friends or other people use them.
The problem in this world is that people are so crazy, that they steal things, they break in to house. they rob places. It really gets on my nerves. Its my worst nightmare (if someone breaks into my house.) Many people suffer from having people break in to there house and damage things. like i really don't get the point of doing that crap. If you break into someones house, take it as someones doing it to you. you don't want anyone to break into your house and steal, or damage your stuff. so why do it?
I believe that the worst world problems of today are the worlds that are happening. This is because so many people are being killed and their homes destroyed because the governments are not getting along. These innocent people have done nothing to deserve what they are receiving. Governments are fighting, going to war, bombing, killing, destroying. All they are thinking about are themselves and what they will gain out of the situation, not about the innocent by-standers and what is happening in their lives. Nope they just want the other group to form to be like them . It's not fair. Plus our environment is being destroyed with all the excess fumes and hazardous chemicals spreading threw our ecosystem. These are the things that are increasing the risk of birth and DNA defects. These are the chemicals that cause diseases that have never appeared before. We need to stop all this misconduct and world disturbance and replace it with getting along, comprises and most importantly peace throughout the world.
Currently there are 10 countries that are in a real war, as in they will go down in the history books as wars. These countries include Syria,Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Nigeria, D.R. Congo, South Sudan, Israel/Gaza, Ukraine and Libya. There is also so many other heavily armed conflicts that still effect the lives of innocent people around the world.http://www.internationalrelations.com/wars-in-progress/
Something that I think is a problem in the world is sexual assault. Many men and women all over this world are constantly being taken advantage of. But there is nothing being done about it. On college campuses there are always stories you hear about girls being sexually assaulted. There are even some people that try and say that they were "asking for it" by the clothes they were wearing or how much make up they had on. I personally don't think this is fair at all. What person would purposely ask to be taken advantage of or sexually assaulted? This is a huge problem in the world that happens all around us. This is a major problem because there are innocent people out there that are being hurt and abused yet there is nothing being done about it. Sexual assault takes peoples confidence and dignity away and that is something that no human being should have to go through and experience.
" In one year 300,000 college women, over 5% of women enrolled in colleges and universities, experience rape. This does not include other forms of sexual assault (Kilpatrick, et al.)" http://www.oneinfourusa.org/statistics.php
"Some men joke or make comments about a woman's appearance or age to indicate whether she is sexually desirable or available. But the perceived 'attractiveness' of a victim has very little to do with sexual violence. Rape is an act of violence not sex." http://www.rapecrisis.org.uk/commonmyths2.php
One problem in the world is roiting. There has been riots for the pass month and a half. There is no point of rioting. People need to deal with what happened and just go back where they came from. Everyone is tired of the riots.
No matter what anyone does there are going to be rioting. What ever the supreme court come to there's going to be riots. If the supreme court finds the cop not guilty the people are going to riot in anger. If he is guilty the still might riot because the one and it would still prove no point. It shows that people there are going to act like this no matter what happens. Also with the riots there are more shooting and homicides in St.Louis. All the cops are having to deal with the riots and cant focus on everything else that is happening.
i believe a world problem would be that turbos are way too expensive. Its about $5,000 just to buy a good single turbo kit. I guess it may be worth the money if you want to see results but honestly its just way too much just for extra air flow. I think it should be priced at around $500 at least.
Ebola is a growing problem in the world. The first known outbreak was in 1976 Nzara, South Sudan. The Sudan outbreak infected 284 people and killed 151. On 26 August 1976, a second outbreak of EVD began in Yambuku, Zaire, a small rural village in Mongala District in northern Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 2004 a Russian scientist died from Ebola after sticking herself with an infected needle. Ebola is a fast spreading, deadly disease with no 100% cure. Only some medicine can prevent some symptoms. Between people, Ebola disease spreads only by direct contact with the blood or body fluids of a person who has developed symptoms of the disease. If we don't keep from preventing this disease it can keep spreading and start killing young children that never even had a chance to really live.
http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/11/health/ebola-fast-facts/ This virus has the potential of wiping out millions more lives. Bringing it to America was already a bad idea. A movie was made slightly off of the virus Ebola called, Outbreak.
One problem with the world is territory, like everybody is fighting over territory, i think the UN should step up and solve these issues for all countries instead of the main ones. WE should equalize the help every country gets.
To me I think that a problem this work is that society is changing people. Its Making people become something that they aren't. It makes me mad when you have a friend and they change because people tell them that they aren't pretty enough or you weigh too much. Its just judging people based on their own beliefs and looks. Society is just a big bully and all it does is hurt people. It makes people want to not be left out so they change and for some people when they change they loose their selves. Its funny how so many people change from elementary to high school. when we were kids we didn't care about or weight, how we looked, who we hung out with, and i could go on with so much more to say but you get my point. Now we have teens freaking about their weight, how they look, if what they are wearing and other bs like that its like people dont want to have fun anymore and just want to please other people.
The internet is a major problem that has to do with society. people think that its not harmful, but its actually hurting them instead. The internet should be used for talking to friends that move away, work, school, Facebook, Twitter , etc. but now society has changed and its now being used to bully people. The harass people and to hurt people. to blackmail people. And so much more. people dont see how it affects them. they think they are fine on the outside but they arent paying attention to whats on the inside. and that swhat is most important http://nypost.com/2014/01/04/societys-addiction-to-faster-living-is-destroying-us-doctor/
A world problem that effects most of the population of women is sexual assault and rape. The definition of sexual assault is widely different around in the United States. An average of 237,868 American citizens above the age of 12 are sexually assaulted per year. https://www.rainn.org/get-information/statistics/frequency-of-sexual-assault
I would like to say that sexual assault is a huge problem not only in the united stated but all over the world. Women are mostly targeted 300,00 women are targeted yearly around the world and the number of women in the United States http://www.huffingtonpost.com/soraya-chemaly/50-facts-rape_b_2019338.html
So what would you do without education? You would end up working at a fast food restaurant never making over minimal wage. Without education, hardly no one would get anywhere in life.
I believe one of the worst TEEN world problems is abuse. Sexual, physical, verbal... Doesn't matter: its wrong. I have went through all three... My boyfriend sexually assaulted me, and my bio-dad physically and verbally abused me. I am afraid of men now, but i am fighting through it.
One of the world's problems currently is the disappearance of privacy in modernized nations. Such as how people can be spied on via internet very easily by the government, or how cameras are now being set up everywhere in bigger cities. Also, this was enforced when Edward Snowden released tons of info about programs that the NSA run, which track your internet history, go through your email, and spy on your emails and phone calls. If you do not know about the things Edward Snowden revealed or anything about the incident at all, I would highly recommend researching this.
Whoops, sorry, deleted my comment by accident. Here it is. Also, if you want to know more about the Edward Snowden leak of info, go to https://wikileaks.org/ ( I know this is slightly off-topic, but it could strengthen my claim.)
There are points where hacking/invading privacy is acceptable are very small, but are used in very good ways, such as with the group Anonymous, who attack government websites, illegal websites, and in a more specific example, the Westboro Baptist Church website, which was attacked whilst the leader was in the middle of an interview on TV live. They only attack when the owners of the website violate on human rights or violate on human rights via internet, or they only attack illegal and/or discriminating websites.
Even though this is a very short introduction into the history of Anonymous and its members, it still shows how either side of the spectrum of invading privacy is acceptable, albeit the hacking/invading side being much more situation based on whether it is right or wrong.
A problem in this world is the forced teachings in classes that won't affect your wanted career choice. If I wish to take a psycology career path i won't really need art history or band or government. I also most likely would not need a college algebra class in this career path. However I would need people skills classes and many science classes
A problem in today's world is Abortion. Its a big problem because in some places they get abortions just because they made a mistake. Just because you wanted a night of fun you are going to kill an innocent baby. Its wrong and cruel. Some places in the world if the baby is a girl they will get an abortion. The doctor most likely wont tell the parents if its a boy or girl because they don't want that to happen. Its not the baby's fault you made a mistake or what gender they are.
A big problem in the world today is abortion. I think abortion is a problem because it's basically murder. Last time I checked murder is illegal so why isn't abortion? If that's the path God chose for you then that's what you should do. That innocent little didn't choose this it's not the baby's fault so why punish the baby? Some people use abortion as a birth control and i can't even put into words how wrong that is. The only and i mean the only acceptable reason for abortion is if the baby is going to kill you and itself if the pregnancy continues. Other than that one reason abortion should be illegal. Abortion is all over the world and they do it everywhere and that's a problem, a huge problem.
These statistics are just disturbing, http://www.abort73.com/abortion_facts/us_abortion_statistics/ I can not believe how many abortions happen in the US alone. This cite has a picture that says "Would if bother us if they used guns?" that's a really good point because I don't think people see it for what it really is, murder.
What if that fetus is going to have a poor quality of life. You can not make a broad statement. The choice needs to be made on individual basis. If the fetus becomes a child that is going to have a poor quality of life and live a short painful life then what you are saying is even more cruel and inhumane than the abortion itself
One of the world's problems is food. There are people who cant get any food, people who get waayyy too much and people who are starving themselves on purpose. You see all these models that are stick thin and all these diet advertisements but then we have all these super unhealthy fast-food restaurants and a bunch of junk food. society basically tells us too eat like a cow but some how be tiny and underweight as possible. All these restaurants are making people obese and the models and media are making people starve themselves while everyone else doesn't even have access to food. Its messed up bro!!
One world problem is texting when driving. Many people get in car accident cause of texting while driving. Its a very unsafe thing to do when driving. So next to time you drive just think what will happen if you text and drive. It can wait.
The world itself is the problem. There is not just one problem, but many, and there is not one way, if any, to solve these problems. The world is a fundamentally flawed concept and reality. Our different religions, our different colors, our different governments, our different geography, our different ethics. We are all different, and that's a huge problem. We fight, we kill, we destroy, we build, we plant, we force, we solve, we make problems. We as human beings are flawed. We, being different minds, souls, wills, makes us all look at things differently. We are so flawed. So imperfect, so wrong, so right, so caught up in ourselves and others that we don't even care to focus on problems. We are flawed, we are all different, and that makes problems. We are the problem. I'm going to just clarify this, i'm not affiliated with any religion. I'm not going to say that you are all fools for practicing religions and i'm not going to say that any religion is right or wrong. You are all right and wrong.
something i think is a problem in the world is child abuse. It is not right and the child is defenseless to the adult. Many little children die a day because of an anger of an adult. Most adults take their anger out on little children and sometimes the beating doesnt stop and neither do the childrens screams. People see the bruises but never report it right away, by the time someone reports it the child is either in serious condition or dead. It is not the childs fault you lost your job or you had a bad day so dont take it out on them cause they are just babies and they cant fight back.
Child abuse is more than bruises and broken bones. While physical abuse might be the most visible, other types of abuse, such as emotional and sexual abuse are a problem to. Using fear to control behavior never actually work it scares the children other than teaching them a lesson. Lashing out in anger at the children will cause them depression and when they get even older they could become suicidal.
One of the worlds problems is illegal use of drug. It can effect a community as a whole and it can make a community that was very good turn around fast. This is one of the world problems that effect a lot of people.
Drugs are not the problem, it is people becoming dependant on them for a high, while if someone used drugs in moderation (besides highly dangerous ones) then that is fine, it is when people abuse them that stuff goes wrong.
I found this credible source that show that drugs actually can effect a whole community. They might just be using it to get a high but really what there doing is effecting the people around them if they live in a apartment they could make a family have to move out just to get away from the drugs and that is all I have to say about that. http://www.justice.gov/archive/ndic/pubs11/18862/impact.htm
If there are people doing drugs in a apartment complex, and others know this, then they will most likely be arrested soon either way, it doesn't always need to lead to a family leaving, it could lead to the drug user leaving.
one thing that is a problem with the world is poverty. people are losing their jobs and losing money. With jobs the last person hired is the first one fired from their job and they do not know what to do when they get fired cause they do not have a jobs or have money .you should not be fired base on who got hired first it should be based on who is capable on doing thing .
One problem in the United States that many face is the US Debt Cap. This is a problem because we as a nation owe trillions to China, United Kingdom, Japan and many more nations. Debt is a crisis that is plaguing our nation, I say this because we are in a hole and we keep digging to China just to borrow more money. I cannot think of many ways to relieve our debt, Even if we tried there are people in office who are spending money on useless things. If we continue down this road soon we will not be able pay off our debt. Our Nation is like a gambler in the way that it has lost so much money that it thinks the only intelligent thing it can do is continue to play. It is said that all the money in the world could not pay off our debt.
One world problem is bullying. So many people in the world are bullied whether it be the way they dress, talk, look, act or because of their race and/or culture. No one stands up against bullying because if someone did, they'd have more people against them then by their side.
One problem that is taking place in the world at the moment is my haircut. Why you ask? It's just a simple haircut how can it effect people around you? well uh it's really stupid, like really really dumb. I feel this is a problem because everyday for seven hours or more the people in the room within me have to live their daily life knowing in the back of their mind, that my really funny haircut is just a few feet away from them, especially teachers, they actually have to look at it everyday while teaching me, making eye contact with it because your required too for your job, like think about it, that would suck! "why don't you cut it?" people ask me. well you see I've had this haircut sense fifth grade, so I've had it long enough to the point where I'm just stuck with it. so yeah it might not be a big deal right now but think about it, one day I might be like a news reporter or something and at that point it would really be a problem taking place in America. And that is what I think of when people bring up problems in the world today.
your hair will grow back dude, the world changing wouldnt come back together . the world at this moment is changing everyday just because your hair is messed up doesnt make it a world problem
Well I didn't plan on returning to this subject but now I sorta have too, so yeah. My hair is a problem today because it isn't fair to the rest of society and all the people surrounding me have to look at that all day and be around it, knowing that it's there. one time I went on a walk to the park and sent young children screaming. just more evidence that my hair is a problem in todays society
Bullying is a huge problem in the world, but even commenting about it and saying we should stop doesn't mean that it will. It never will and its become a natural thing for a human to make fun of someone and judge them. All i say is "you don't know my story and i don't know your's, so lets move on and forget about each other." Works for me, that's how i got out of it. ^-^
The main problem I think in this world is "MONEY". A person who has all the riches did not bring them with him or he is not going to take them with him when he is going to die.
So I think that no person in this world should not be proud of what he has instead he should be proud of what he has earned.
One of the biggest problems in the world is high school. This is because it puts way too much pressure on most of us students. One reason for that is because we all have too pass ALL of our classes and take "required" classes in order to graduate, which is ridiculous! Some of those classes are difficult for us and yet they are somewhat pointless because we may not need those specific classes for our future lives. I bet half of my grades that the majority of us students are just sick of all this! We shouldn't have to take classes we don't want just because the government says we have to. We should be able to just take classes that we WILL need in life, but no, the government likes to make everything difficult! This is why this is one of the biggest world problems.
A big problem in our world is acceptance. Whether it's accepting a small thing or a big thing we all need to accept and support each other. So what you don't support gays? You can accept them and let them live their lives. So you can't accept other races? Let them do them, it's not affecting you. We all need to realize other people have feelings too and everyone just wants to fit in and be loved
One huge problem in the world that is growing rapidly is rape. Lately there has been a lot of things about it on social media and a lot of people are realizing it's a huge problem. Girls should not be punished for what they wear because that is a lot of peoples reasons why it happens. Society tries to teach girls to not show anything revealing but why don't they teach guys not to rape? http://www.clevelandrapecrisis.org/resources/statistics/national-statistics-about-sexual-assault
Every 2 minutes, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. 1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. Among all victims, about nine out of ten are female. 1 out of every 33 American men has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in his lifetime. Survivors of sexual assault are: 3 times more likely to suffer from depression 6 times more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder 13 times more likely to abuse alcohol 26 times more likely to abuse drugs 4 times more likely to contemplate suicide Only about 6% of rapists ever serve a day in jail. Only 6%? That percentage should be much higher they are ruining peoples lives and are changing them all together. (Rape Crisis Center) http://www.rccmsc.org/resources/get-the-facts.aspx
Ok here is where my counter statement goes against in your remark. A metabolism can greatly affect your weight. I personally have a very high metabolism keeping me very light, while someone with a "slurred metabolism" will most likely have to commence more strenuous activities than me to work off the same amount of weight. That makes it harder for them to become my weight because of the work they would have to put forth. It isn't always about laziness, although it can be a cause from time to time.
A problem in today's society is judgement. Its not just racism anymore, it's the fact that both girls and guys are constantly striving to be accepted, and to fit the societal definition of "perfect." Not to mention, that being a "barbie doll" is almost impossible, and requires numerous plastic surgeries, procedures, etc. It seems that nowadays, nobody is happy with themselves anymore, because they feel like they're not good enough. When actuality, they're perfect in their own way. Not to mention, there are always going to be people who you don't like, and who don't like you. This doesn't mean that you should bully this person for their looks, or anything else for that matter. And to go even further, your body should play no role in the amount of people that judge you. Of course there are things you can do to help your body shape and your "figure." However, your body structure is something that's passed through genetics. Therefore, you can't help your metabolism rate, your height, etc.
Hey. This llink elaborates my comment on world problems: "The main problem I think in this world is "MONEY". A person who has all the riches did not bring them with him or he is not going to take them with him when he is going to die.
So I think that no person in this world should not be proud of what he has instead he should be proud of what he has earned."
a world problem that we have is that we have to many homeless people out there on the streets and a good portion of them are wounded veterans that come home from war and have no job and can pay there way About 53% of individual homeless veterans have disabilities, compared with 41%of homeless non-veteran individuals.,Homeless veterans tend to experience homelessness longer than their non-veteran peers: Veterans spend an average of nearly six years homeless, compared to four years reported among non-veterans.In 2010, the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) estimated that on any given night there were 76,000 homeless veterans sleeping on American streets.this is unreal and not right, we should try to help our wounded veterans that come home from war, they fight for us and risk there lives
I agree, nobody is the same, and the people who do judge are just idiots, you dont know what somebody's been through until youve stepped into their shoes.
Childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years.1, 2
The percentage of children aged 6–11 years in the United States who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to nearly 18% in 2012. Similarly, the percentage of adolescents aged 12–19 years who were obese increased from 5% to nearly 21% over the same period.1, 2
In 2012, more than one third of children and adolescents were overweight or obese.1
Overweight is defined as having excess body weight for a particular height from fat, muscle, bone, water, or a combination of these factors.3 Obesity is defined as having excess body fat.4
Overweight and obesity are the result of “caloric imbalance”—too few calories expended for the amount of calories consumed—and are affected by various genetic, behavioral, and environmental factors.5,6
Here are some facts about obesity posted by shift_team.
The main problem in the world is wars. I think this is a problem because a lot of people die in wars and they cause people to worry. wars are often fought over serious reasons but they could be unnecessary. I think that instead of war they should find another reason to solve problems. This could make the world more peaceful and may cause people to be nicer.
I think that one world problem is judgement. As a high school student people are judged everyday just by what they wear, how they look, everything. The sad thing is we were born thinking that looks were everything.
A world problem that we have is bullying and being judgmental. People pick on other people all the time just because they aren't like everyone else. People judge others because they don't have the same style as them, or are not into the same things. I think that people just need to learn to except others for who they are and realize that everyone is different and that is okay.
a major world problem thats been going on for a while is that people are wasting money on useless things instead of helping the poor. An example would be that someone buys an Xbox One while some children barely have any food to eat. People should learn to help out others before you help yourself to something that you really dont need.
Child abuse is a huge problem.. People think they can just hit, punch, and kick the child. Its not okay to do that. Take a break. Don't abuse any children EVER.Child abuse is more than bruises and broken bones. While physical abuse might be the most visible, other types of abuse, such as emotional abuse and neglect, also leave deep, lasting scars. The earlier abused children get help, the greater chance they have to heal and break the cycle—rather than perpetuate it. By learning about the common signs of abuse and what you can do to intervene, you can make a huge difference in a child’s life.Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving more than 6 million children (a report can include multiple children). The United States has one of the worst records among industrialized nations – losing on average between four and seven children every day to child abuse and neglect.
A big problem i see everyday involves school. During the school day i see many girls getting in trouble for the things they wear. Teachers and principals shame girls for the things they wear saying it is a "distraction". If girls are confident enough to show off their body, no one should shame them and make them feel bad about what they choose to wear. Girls are constantly getting in trouble for short shorts and tank tops. If it is hot outside, no girl wants to wear a full bodysuit. Girls should not be shamed. Teachers should focus more on the guys who choose to get distracted and make it their first priority over learning.
One of the problems in this world is the burglaries. All throughout the united states, houses are broken into approximately every 15 seconds. On average, a burglary results in a dollar loss of about $1,600. Renters are more likely to be the victims of property crime than homeowners. I rent my house so that scares me. http://hvlock.com/facts_about_burglaries.htm

Despite the decline in the national poverty rate, the 2013 regional poverty rates were not statistically different from the 2012 rates.

DeleteI think a major world problem is hatred between countries.
ReplyDeleteFor an example, the most violent part of the world right now and in recent history seems to be the middle east.
DeleteSomething that I think is a problem is the world is drugs.
ReplyDeleteDrugs are not a problem, it is people becoming dependant on them for a high, while if someone used drugs in moderation (besides highly dangerous ones) then that is fine, it is when people abuse them that stuff goes wrong.
DeleteHere is a link that shows the top 9 reason why someone uses drugs. http://thejenniferact.com/2011/05/12/reasons-why-people-use-drugs/
DeleteDrugs kill about 200,000 people each year.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the worst world problems of today are the worlds that are happening.
ReplyDeleteCurrently there are 10 countries that are in a real war, as in they will go down in the history books as wars.
DeleteSomething that I think is a problem in the world is sexual assault.
ReplyDelete" In one year 300,000 college women, over 5% of women enrolled in colleges and universities, experience rape. This does not include other forms of sexual assault (Kilpatrick, et al.)" http://www.oneinfourusa.org/statistics.php
Delete"Some men joke or make comments about a woman's appearance or age to indicate whether she is sexually desirable or available. But the perceived 'attractiveness' of a victim has very little to do with sexual violence. Rape is an act of violence not sex."

One problem in the world is roiting. There has been riots for the pass month and a half. There is no point of rioting. People need to deal with what happened and just go back where they came from. Everyone is tired of the riots.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what anyone does there are going to be rioting.

ReplyDeleteCorvettes are pretty cheap, and fast too
DeleteEbola is a growing problem in the world.

One problem with the world is territory, like everybody is fighting over territory, i think the UN should step up and solve these issues for all countries instead of the main ones. WE should equalize the help every country gets.
ReplyDeleteTo me I think that a problem this work is that society is changing people.
ReplyDeleteThe internet is a major problem that has to do with society. people think that its not harmful, but its actually hurting them instead. The internet should be used for talking to friends that move away, work, school, Facebook, Twitter , etc. but now society has changed and its now being used to bully people. The harass people and to hurt people. to blackmail people. And so much more. people dont see how it affects them. they think they are fine on the outside but they arent paying attention to whats on the inside. and that swhat is most important

ReplyDeleteOne of the world's problems currently is the disappearance of privacy in modernized nations.

DeleteThey only attack when the owners of the website violate on human rights or violate on human rights via internet, or they only attack illegal and/or discriminating websites.
Even though this is a very short introduction into the history of Anonymous and its members, it still shows how either side of the spectrum of invading privacy is acceptable, albeit the hacking/invading side being much more situation based on whether it is right or wrong.
DeleteA problem in this world is the forced teachings in classes that won't affect your wanted career choice. If I wish to take a psycology career path i won't really need art history or band or government. I also most likely would not need a college algebra class in this career path. However I would need people skills classes and many science classes
ReplyDeleteA problem in today's world is Abortion.
ReplyDeleteA big problem in the world today is abortion.
ReplyDeleteThese statistics are just disturbing, http://www.abort73.com/abortion_facts/us_abortion_statistics/ I can not believe how many abortions happen in the US alone. This cite has a picture that says "Would if bother us if they used guns?" that's a really good point because I don't think people see it for what it really is, murder.
DeleteWhat if that fetus is going to have a poor quality of life. You can not make a broad statement. The choice needs to be made on individual basis. If the fetus becomes a child that is going to have a poor quality of life and live a short painful life then what you are saying is even more cruel and inhumane than the abortion itself
DeleteOne of the world's problems is food. There are people who cant get any food, people who get waayyy too much and people who are starving themselves on purpose. DeleteThe world itself is the problem.
ReplyDeletesomething i think is a problem in the world is child abuse.
ReplyDeleteChild abuse is more than bruises and broken bones. While physical abuse might be the most visible, other types of abuse, such as emotional and sexual abuse are a problem to. Using fear to control behavior never actually work it scares the children other than teaching them a lesson. Lashing out in anger at the children will cause them depression and when they get even older they could become suicidal.

If there are people doing drugs in a apartment complex, and others know this, then they will most likely be arrested soon either way, it doesn't always need to lead to a family leaving, it could lead to the drug user leaving.
Deleteone thing that is a problem with the world is poverty. people are losing their jobs and losing money. ReplyDeleteOne problem in the United States that many face is the US Debt Cap.
ReplyDeleteOne world problem is bullying. So many people in the world are bullied whether it be the way they dress, talk, look, act or because of their race and/or culture. No one stands up against bullying because if someone did, they'd have more people against them then by their side.
ReplyDeleteOne problem that is taking place in the world at the moment is my haircut.
ReplyDeleteyour hair will grow back dude, the world changing wouldnt come back together . the world at this moment is changing everyday just because your hair is messed up doesnt make it a world problem

DeleteBullying is a huge problem in the world, but even commenting about it and saying we should stop doesn't mean that it will. It never will and its become a natural thing for a human to make fun of someone and judge them. ReplyDeleteThe main problem I think in this world is "MONEY". A person who has all the riches did not bring them with him or he is not going to take them with him when he is going to die.
ReplyDeleteSo I think that no person in this world should not be proud of what he has instead he should be proud of what he has earned.
ReplyDeleteI AGREE!!!! so true.
DeleteA big problem in our world is acceptance.
ReplyDeleteOne huge problem in the world that is growing rapidly is rape.
ReplyDeleteEvery 2 minutes, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. 1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. Among all victims, about nine out of ten are female. 1 out of every 33 American men has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in his lifetime.
DeleteSurvivors of sexual assault are:
3 times more likely to suffer from depression
6 times more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder
13 times more likely to abuse alcohol
26 times more likely to abuse drugs
4 times more likely to contemplate suicide
Only about 6% of rapists ever serve a day in jail. Only 6%? That percentage should be much higher they are ruining peoples lives and are changing them all together.

Ok here is where my counter statement goes against in your remark. A metabolism can greatly affect your weight. I personally have a very high metabolism keeping me very light, while someone with a "slurred metabolism"
ReplyDeletewill most likely have to commence more strenuous activities than me to work off the same amount of weight.
Therefore, you can't help your metabolism rate, your height, etc.

a world problem that we have is that we have to many homeless people out there on the streets and a good portion of them are wounded veterans that come home from war and have no job and can pay there way About 53% of individual homeless veterans have disabilities, compared with 41%of homeless non-veteran individuals.,Homeless veterans tend to experience homelessness longer than their non-veteran peers: Veterans spend an average of nearly six years homeless, compared to four years reported among non-veterans.In 2010, the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) estimated that on any given night there were 76,000 homeless veterans sleeping on American streets.this is unreal and not right, we should try to help our wounded veterans that come home from war, they fight for us and risk there lives

ReplyDeleteChildhood obesity has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years.1, 2
The percentage of children aged 6–11 years in the United States who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to nearly 18% in 2012.

The main problem in the world is wars. I think this is a problem because a lot of people die in wars and they cause people to worry. wars are often fought over serious reasons but they could be unnecessary. I think that instead of war they should find another reason to solve problems. This could make the world more peaceful and may cause people to be nicer.

DeleteA world problem that we have is bullying and being judgmental. People pick on other people all the time just because they aren't like everyone else. People judge others because they don't have the same style as them, or are not into the same things. I think that people just need to learn to except others for who they are and realize that everyone is different and that is okay.
ReplyDeletea major world problem thats been going on for a while is that people are wasting money on useless things instead of helping the poor. An example would be that someone buys an Xbox One while some children barely have any food to eat. People should learn to help out others before you help yourself to something that you really dont need.
ReplyDeleteChild abuse is a huge problem..
ReplyDeleteA big problem i see everyday involves school.
ReplyDeleteOne of the problems in this world is the burglaries. All throughout the united states, houses are broken into approximately every 15 seconds.
